EESC

The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is an advisory body of the European Union (EU) composed of representatives of workers' and employers' organizations, as well as other interest groups. The Committee issues opinions to the European Commission, to the Council and to the European Parliament, bridging the gap between EU decision-makers and citizens.

The Brazil - European Union Civil Society Roundtable, composed of the Economic and Social Development Council (CDES) of Brazil and the EESC is a forum for a permanent dialogue that meets to discuss topics of common interest. It was recognized by the Summit of Heads of State and Government of Brazil and the European Union within the scope of their Strategic Partnership. The results of this initiative are forwarded to the Summit of Heads of State and Government on a recommendation basis.
