The Debate on Development

The Debate on Development

The main challenge faced by CDES, in its debate on development, is to consolidate a systemic, long-term perspective. Oriented by the search of the wider interest, beyond the parts represented on it, the Council has allowed the articulation of diverse points of view, without denying the contradictions on this articulation. This exercise of bringing conflicts to light and searching for understanding constitutes an important arena for the mobilization of national will and to widen the space for dialogue, information processing and decisions of Brazilian State to build the development in its multiple and necessary aspects. In this sense, the efforts, like the National Agenda for Development, the Strategic Statements about Development, the International Seminar on Development, and the New Development Cycle Agenda, should be emphasized.
